From the desk of Siegie Brownlee, Eduvos CEO:
2022 is coming to an end, but Eduvos is far from slowing down.
Our mission is to Shape potential, student by student, towards Africa’s prosperity – and over the last 18 months, we have been working hard to implement new ways to grow Eduvos and improve the academic and campus experience for current and future students.
In the last 12 months, we saw a 48% growth in student numbers as Eduvos continues to steadily gain market awareness and become known as a credible higher education provider that offers value through the quality of its education, high throughput and pass rates, its focus on student wellness, and our links to industry.
Affording higher education remains a massive barrier in South Africa. In January this year, we aligned our prices to those of public universities and we have partnered with additional funding partners this year to assist with student funding. Our website now includes daily posts for bursaries on offer, these exceed R100 million worth of opportunities.
The number of qualifications offered by Eduvos was expanded across all 12 campuses this year, and we will soon be adding additional Commerce and Education post-graduate qualifications. With plans underway to offer Masters and Doctoral programmes across all our faculties.
We are continually upgrading our campuses and technology to help improve the way we educate our students and run our institution, we are starting to see the benefits. To accommodate our scale, we will be moving our MyLMS infrastructure to AWS (Amazon Web Services) in December this year, which will aid in its stability.
We have re-aligned our Academic structure and grown our staffing complement by over 170 new staff members this year in our efforts to enhance the experience of our students and their learning. This included centralising and expanding a Learning and Development Hub, that has worked tirelessly in upgrading our material to be digital, current, and relevant. Students now have instant access to digital material produced in our state-of-art videography and production facilities.
In our quest to provide a relevant, practical learning experience, we continue to form ongoing partnerships with industry who guide our curriculum, and we have now implemented a Work Integrated Learning module into all our programmes. Eduvos has furthermore formed a partnership with EON Reality, and we will be starting to introduce virtual and experiential reality learning into our curriculum late next year, to massively enhance the learning experience of our students.
Our campuses are being transformed into Hubs where industry, academia, technology, and students meet. This year we opened the Mbombela and Nelson Mandela Bay Campuses, both of which are modelled on our Campus of the Future.
We would like to thank you for your support, and for selecting Eduvos to be your Academic Partner of Choice. Your success is our success – it is our aim to constantly improve our services and offerings to prepare students to thrive in the business world and to become the best versions of themselves. We remain committed to the student experience and holistic education of our Vossies.
From the Eduvos Executive team, we wish you and your loved ones a peaceful and happy year-end break. May the new year bring all that you are hoping for. We look forward to welcoming you back to another progressive year in 2023.
