Celebrate the Grand Opening of Eduvos Pretoria’s Science Labs.
Post by Eduvos, June 7, 2024.
Get ready to experience the future of science education at Eduvos Pretoria. Join us for a memorable grand opening event on Thursday, 27 June 2024, from 10:00 to 13:00 at 22 Umgazi Street, Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria.
We are proud to announce that our Applied Science qualifications are now available at our Pretoria Campus. Due to the popularity of our Biomedicine and Biotechnology degrees, Eduvos saw the need to expand the Applied Science faculty beyond our Midrand campus.
This expansion signifies a significant leap in our endeavour to increase access to higher education. And we wanted to ensure we could provide more students with the opportunity to pursue the sciences.
The new labs are designed to meet this growing demand and provide an incredible educational environment for future scientists and can accommodate up to 50 students per session. This ensures each student receives a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience.
Labs are equipped with some of the latest technology to ensure our students have an optimal learning experience:
Laminar flow hoods
Incubators
Autoclaves
Microscopes
Advanced audiovisual equipment
Safety measures include a safety shower, a dedicated preparation lab, a storeroom, and a separate chemical storeroom with an extractor fan system.
At this time, only first-year BSc Biomedicine and BSc Biotechnology Management degrees are available, starting 22 July. In 2025, the Pretoria labs will accommodate 100 students, including both new intakes and transfers from the Midrand campus.
“The launch of our new Applied Science labs at the Pretoria campus marks a pivotal expansion in Eduvos's commitment to innovative education”, says Dr Mandi Joubert, Eduvos Executive Head of Academics. “Previously available at only one campus, the overwhelming student demand for studies in Biomedicine and Biotechnology Management has driven us to extend these offerings to Pretoria. These labs are a cornerstone of our “Campus of the Future' vision for the entire Pretoria campus, providing students with access to advanced resources and real-world applications. We are dedicated to creating an environment where students can thrive and innovate, fully equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow."
With school holidays around the corner, school learners and their parents are invited to explore the future of education at Eduvos Pretoria. This event is the perfect opportunity to see our advanced facilities firsthand, engage with lecturers, current students, alumni, and envision a future in the sciences.
The event will include an appearance from guest speakers, a ribbon-cutting ceremony to witness the official opening, and a Q&A session with Antolize Deetlefs, an Eduvos alum who will share her Eduvos experience.
Envision your future at Eduvos Pretoria with a guided tour of our campus-of-the-future. Mix FM will also be on campus bringing an incredible vibe with their radio activation, along with an array of food trucks, prize giveaways and so much more!
If you’re interested in studying a Bachelor of Science in Biomedicine degree, or a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology degree in 2024, Eduvos is still open for enrolment for our Block three intake, starting 22 July.
We also encourage Matric learners to pre-enrol for 2025 to secure their space at our award-winning private higher education institution. All you need to do is pre-enrol online or visit us on campus, upload the required documentation (copy of your ID, parent/sponsor ID and Grade 11/12 latest results) and pay your R300 application fee.
