Eduvos Returns to rAge Expo for Third Consecutive Year.

Post by Eduvos, November 25, 2024.

Eduvos, in partnership with RGB Gaming, will participate in the annual rAge Expo from Friday, 29 November to Sunday, 1 December at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. Known as South Africa’s ultimate gathering for gaming, technology, gadgets, and geek culture, the rAge Expo brings together passionate enthusiasts across the country. The event offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest in gaming and tech while celebrating the gaming community.

This year, we will again showcase the remarkable talent in our esports leagues. Students from our Vossie gaming teams in Gauteng will compete in an adrenaline-filled Apex Legends tournament on Saturday, 30 November. These Vossie gamers have already left their mark earlier this year at Comic Con Africa, and rAge offers yet another chance for them to shine. Events like this not only bring out the best in competitive spirit but also provide invaluable real-world experience and exposure to high-profile platforms.

“Our collaboration with Eduvos highlights how education and gaming work hand in hand to shape the next generation of creators, competitors, and innovators. Together, we are building a platform that not only celebrates students’ love for gaming but also equips them with the skills to excel in an industry rich with opportunity,” says Jaco Sauer, RGB Gaming General Manager.

Eduvos is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within our student population by creating activities that align with their passions. For our gaming enthusiasts, we’ve launched a subscription-based Esports League in partnership with RGB Gaming, aimed at fostering creativity and helping students connect with their gaming community. Any student can join their campus league, regardless of their faculty, and stand the chance to compete in inter-campus tournaments.

We’re also excited to share that two of our talented students, Robert Njawaya (Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology (Robotics)) and Matthew Ndlovu (Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design), started their own business, RNN-Tech.

Driven by their passion for gaming and innovative design, Robert and Matthew created unique gaming products, including custom desk mats and PC cases that blend creativity with functionality. They’ll be joining us at rAge to showcase and sell these products. We’re proud to have supported their journey. Through expert guidance from our lecturers, technical and entrepreneurial skills-building and offer platforms to help them bring their vision to life.

Our commitment to future-focused education doesn’t stop at esports. We also offer a specialised gaming qualification: Higher Certificate in Information Systems (Game Design and Development). This programme offers a solid gaming foundation, empowering aspiring game developers with a good mix of technical skills, game design principles, and project management knowledge. Our gaming qualification aligns with our vision of providing holistic, forward-facing education. It enables students to not only enjoy their passion for gaming but also gain recognised qualifications that can open doors to diverse career opportunities in the esports field.
