“Law opens quite a number of avenues. So, even if the future of work is changing, you will always fit.”, Dr Tinaye Chivizhe, Head of Programme for Law at Eduvos.

Law is an in-demand career path. At Eduvos, our School of Law allows you to pursue your passion for law under the Faculty of Humanities or the Faculty of Commerce.

BCom Law
A Bachelor of Commerce in Law degree is a multidisciplinary qualification that prepares you for a career in business, marketing or law. It also serves as a pathway to studying for a Bachelor of Law (LLB).
When you study your BCom Law at Eduvos, you will major in Law and get a chance to choose another major from the selection of commerce majors, providing you with a broad and intensive qualification. You also gain invaluable understanding and skills in Business, English, Computer Skills, Industrial Relations and Economics.

BA Law
A Bachelor of Arts in Law degree is also multidisciplinary in nature. It combines the main concepts of public law such as constitutional law, criminal law and international human rights with various fields in Humanities such as Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Economics, Political Science, Communication Science and Media Studies.
This is ideal for a student that aspires to advocate for constitutional rights or the rights of children, women or other marginalised communities.
In both BA and BCom Law, you will be introduced to research, which is a rare preparation for Honours studies as well as exposure to real legal cases, equipping you for the world of work.

The benefits of having a law degree
A law degree has many benefits including:

  1. Financial success: Lawyers are generally compensated well and the further you take your studies, the better your salary prospects are. Experience in the industry also aids your ability to grow your income.

  2. Become a competitive candidate: A law degree improves your credibility and demonstrates your dedication to potential employers.

  3. Develop soft skills: This qualification helps you develop your reasoning, communication skills, logic, problem-solving, research skills and self-confidence. These are all transferable skills that you can benefit from in any industry.

  4. Understanding of contracts: Every employee or employer has to interact with contracts at some point in their career. Having a law degree gives you an advantage in every field because you can review and analyse the fine print in a contract.

  5. A solid foundation for further study:  Even if you decide not to pursue law, a Law degree prepares you for further study and a career in finance, real estate, media and politics. It also makes you a more competitive applicant at tertiary level.
