After a successful three weeks of graduation ceremonies, we look back and celebrate the class of 2023 for their hard work and unwavering dedication to their future. Each ceremony was a great success, bringing together students, parents, and academic staff in a congratulatory setting.
This year more than 1,500 students walked across the stage as they received their qualification certificates.
For the first time this year, we’ve introduced summa cum laude, the highest honour, to recognise exceptional academic performance. A total of 17 students graduated Summa Cum Laude, 88 students graduated with Magna Cum Laude, and 75 students graduated with Cum Laude.
While every graduate deserves commendation, we take special pride in acknowledging the top achievers across all 12 campuses. We celebrate two students from our Applied Science faculty, nine from our Commerce & Law faculty, three from our Humanities faculty, and eleven from our Information Technology faculty. Of these 25 students, we recognise the national top achiever, Alex Buitendag, from our Potchefstroom campus, who received the highest average mark to take the honour of our top performing student.
Several esteemed keynote speakers shared words of wisdom to inspire the class of 2023 to step into the workplace and become productive members of society.
With the recent launch of our newly introduced Alumni Association, we’ve invited fellow graduate, Christiaan Joubert, to share his experience from being a student to finding a job through the Alumni network. “I greatly appreciated the flexibility in the work and study schedule. I was able to work and study, and with this integration, I had the opportunity to get a lot of exposure in the law field,” says Christiaan. “I’m currently working as a financial advisor at Old Mutual since the start of January 2024. I got the job through Eduvos.”
The graduating class of 2023 is encouraged to join the Alumni Association to connect with fellow alumni, find employment opportunities, and seek or offer mentorship to drive our collective purpose forward.
At Eduvos, we ensure our graduates leave with future-proof, employable skills for a rewarding career in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Recent statistics from our Employability Centre show that 64% of accessible graduates from the class of 2023 are furthering their studies or have found employment already. Some of the most popular companies our graduates are working at, include Sanlam, Standard Bank, Pepkor IT, and Old Mutual.
As we bid farewell to the class of 2023, we do so with admiration and excitement for the bright futures that lie ahead of them. May you continue to pursue your dreams with passion and determination, knowing that the knowledge and experiences gained during your time with Eduvos have prepared you to thrive in whatever challenges you may face.
