The Eduvos Modes of Learning.

Post by Eduvos, November 3, 2023.

In today's rapidly evolving world, the landscape of education and learning is undergoing a profound transformation. At Eduvos, we’ve made a conscious effort to embrace a holistic and flexible approach to education, one that recognises the diverse learning styles and aspirations of individuals.

We’ve adopted a smart blended learning approach, where asynchronous learning (learning that occurs at your own time and place) and synchronous learning (learning that occurs simultaneously, albeit online or on campus) are available.

Our smart blended learning approach uses elements of the ‘flipped classroom’ methodology, which requires students to engage in pre-class learning, and allows more time during in-class engagement for active learning, discussions, problem-solving, and collaborative activities, in addition to lecturing. By actively engaging with the material and their peers, students can deepen their understanding of the content.

The smart blended learning is enhanced with technology, such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) via EON-XR.  The practical application of knowledge in real-world scenarios elevates students to solve problems, innovate and build essential skills for the world of work.

Our Modes of Learning include:

Campus
Students attend synchronous contact lectures (alternating physical and live online lectures) during the day predominantly from Monday to Friday at an Eduvos campus. Each qualification has its own timetable. Students are in constant contact with their lecturers, which allows for in-class discussions and group learning. Qualifications at campus can be studied both full-time and part-time (selected qualifications).

Online
Similar to our campus-based qualifications, students attend synchronous (live) lectures and have the opportunity to engage with their lecturers and fellow classmates during in-class discussions and group learning. With our online offerings, all lectures are offered virtually and after hours (evenings and Saturdays). Students leverage our online myLMS (Learning Management System) to access learning materials. These qualifications can be studied both full-time and part-time.

Distance
Through our distance methodology, students do not attend synchronous lectures in accordance with a fixed timetable but have the opportunity to engage with lecturers for support in synchronous sessions. Students engage with their lecturers and classmates through discussion forums on myLMS and have access to asynchronous, recorded lectures via myLMS. We currently offer distance learning, part-time and full-time, for a Higher Certificate in Business Management, BCom, BCom Law or BCom Accounting.

Our Durations include:

Full-Time
As a full-time student, you will be expected to spend most of your time focused on your studies, as your workload will typically comprise of at least 120 credits per academic year. This will allow you to complete your higher certificate or honours degree in 1 year, and bachelor’s degree in 3 years.

Part-Time
As a part-time student, you will carry a lighter workload, which will typically comprise of less than 120 credits per academic year, which will accordingly extend your study duration. This will allow you to complete your higher certificate in 2 years, and bachelor’s degree in up to 5 years.

Four Academic Blocks
Our academic year and course content are structured into four academic blocks, rather than a traditional semester, or two-block model. This allows students to focus on fewer modules at a time and complete a module before commencing with the next block, thereby allowing for improved academic performance.

Accordingly, students can also start with our qualifications in any of our Block 1, Block 2, Block 3 and Block 4 intakes.

As the only institution offering the opportunity to pre-enrol, you can secure your seat at Eduvos and Pre-enrol for 2024, today.
