Welcome to Research at Eduvos.

Welcome to Research at Eduvos.

Post by Eduvos, July 15, 2024.

At Eduvos, we believe that research must serve a purpose.  For this reason, our research agenda for 2023 to 2027 is driven by the goal of Empowering Sustainable Development in Africa.

What do we mean by serve a purpose?
We mean that it is not enough to produce research for the sake of research and accolades. Rather, the research produced at Eduvos must empower individuals, communities, and industries. Our research must be meaningful and seek to drive lasting transformation in Africa.

The research culture at Eduvos is one that is supportive, collaborative, and developmental.

Staff and students are supported in their pursuit of research through research modules; short learning programmes; Best Practice Friday sessions; research and writing workshops; additional online resources on myLMS and the Staff Professional Development site; and an accessible and engaged National Research Committee.

We encourage collaboration in research, with many of our undergraduate student research projects emphasising collaboration first over individual projects to ensure that a collective vision for transformative research begins as early as possible in their potential research careers. Our staff and our research and industry partners are also encouraged to pursue collaborative and participatory research.

Our research is developmental in multiple ways: we align our research efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals; the African Union Agenda 2063; and the Southern African Development Community Vision 2050. We also focus our efforts on developing young and emerging researchers among our students, graduates, and staff.

Our research is driven by empowering sustainable development that is transformative, lasting, and changes the lives of individuals, communities, and industries – and this includes our staff, students, and research and industry partners. This is what we mean by purpose.

This research page serves to highlight our Research Agenda; our research focus areas; research produced by our staff, students and research and industry partners; and to provide access to research resources to support you on your research journey with us at Eduvos.
