This year marked the launch of the Eduvos Alumni Association, an incredible network bringing together graduates from Eduvos, as well as CTI Education Group, Midrand Graduate Institute and Pearson Institution of Higher Education.
The mission of the Alumni Association is to foster meaningful connections, cultivate a sense of belonging, and empower alumni to engage with, learn from, and contribute to the wider Eduvos community.
To ensure maximum awareness and engagement, Alumni Association Campus Connect events were held on 11 Eduvos campuses across South Africa, running from July to October. These events brought together 268 alumni, reconnecting old friends, sparking excitement for the association, and introducing the My Eduvos platform, our digital home for our alumni community.
Every campus took part in the Spark Experiment, an experimental methodology of establishing personal, “human” connections between people via conversations sparked by a variety of questions. This methodology is used to facilitate the demolition of invisible walls and boundaries with which we all surround ourselves. The disarming nature of the questions allows people to realise they all share a humanness which is often forgotten or overlooked due to socially normalised stereotypes, prejudices, perceptions and personal pigeon-holing.
The launch of My Eduvos, in partnership with Graduway, marked a significant milestone. This digital platform offers alumni access to mentoring opportunities, a job and internship board, personalised newsletters, community groups, and event updates.
To date, 1309 registered alumni, students and staff have registered on My Eduvos, with the numbers growing daily.
We are very excited about the future of the Eduvos Alumni Association, the strong networks we’re building, the pathways to mentorship and employment we’re creating, and the positive impact we’re set to make as an Eduvos community. Together we’re working towards a brighter future for South Africa.
